Day 21 - starts at sundown Sunday
Prayer Summit - Allen Hood
The speaker reached the podium and in a moment it was obvious that he was affected by the Holy Spirit and could hardly speak, he was trying to tell us about a seed of revival that was in the house, a seed of revival that was in this region. At the beginning we watched as the Lord affected the man, but once he connected with God, all uncertainty left his message, it became more fiery and more powerful as the man gave himself to the Holy Spirit.He called out, "who has the courage the give themselves for the next generation?"
"Who has the courage to die so that the next generation can live?"
He cited King David fighting battles to lay up supplies so that his son Solomon could build the temple. He called for men and women to pray, he mentioned that some leaders don't think they have the 'gift' of intercession. His response...
Intercession is not a calling, it is our birthright!
It is not a spiritual gift, it is human...
If you are human, you were built for prayer...
Prayer is just talking to God, you were built specifically for that.
Prayer is our inheritance.
He read a passage of Scripture out of Joel Chapter one.
Hear this, you elders; listen, all you inhabitants of the land.
Stop, whatever you are doing and listen!
Nothing like this has ever happened before. Ask your father, ask your grandfather...
Hear this, you elders;
listen, all who live in the land.
Has anything like this ever happened in your days
or in the days of your ancestors?
3 Tell it to your children,
and let your children tell it to their children,
and their children to the next generation.
4 What the locust swarm has left
the great locusts have eaten;
what the great locusts have left
the young locusts have eaten;
what the young locusts have left
other locusts[a] have eaten.
listen, all who live in the land.
Has anything like this ever happened in your days
or in the days of your ancestors?
3 Tell it to your children,
and let your children tell it to their children,
and their children to the next generation.
4 What the locust swarm has left
the great locusts have eaten;
what the great locusts have left
the young locusts have eaten;
what the young locusts have left
other locusts[a] have eaten.
5 Wake up, you drunkards, and weep!
Wail, all you drinkers of wine;
wail because of the new wine,
for it has been snatched from your lips. Joel 1:2-5
Wail, all you drinkers of wine;
wail because of the new wine,
for it has been snatched from your lips. Joel 1:2-5
This passage was recounting the day of the Lord where Locusts came and decimated the economy, all the food for two entire years was destroyed by this plague, this judgement had already happened during the time of the present generation. But Joel is warning them of another dreadful day of the Lord coming just a few years down the road and it would come to judge during the time of the Next Generation.
God's solution to a crises of belief... when a culture has gone wild.
A Call to Lamentation
13 Put on sackcloth, you priests, and mourn;
wail, you who minister before the altar.
Come, spend the night in sackcloth,
you who minister before my God;
for the grain offerings and drink offerings
are withheld from the house of your God.
wail, you who minister before the altar.
Come, spend the night in sackcloth,
you who minister before my God;
for the grain offerings and drink offerings
are withheld from the house of your God.
14 Declare a holy fast;
call a sacred assembly.
Summon the elders
and all who live in the land
to the house of the Lord your God,
and cry out to the Lord.
15 Alas for that day!
For the day of the Lord is near; Joel 1:13-14
For the day of the Lord is near; Joel 1:13-14
He said that only 4% of Americans born after 1984 even attend a church, that when a generation reaches 2% that entire generation is lost.
If we will raise the next generation up in prayer, they might stop the pending judgement and even reverse it. But if we fail to raise them up in prayer, then they will die in the judgement that is coming and we will have lost an entire generation.
What is the Holy Spirit whispering right now to your heart.?
SELAH - pause and reflect on it.....give it some time
Ask him about your children, ask him about those you know who are born after 1984.
Is there not a cause?
Isn't it time that we cry out.
We need the Spirit of Lord in these days which the Book of Malachi calls the prophet Elijah and "he will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse" Malachi 4.5,6. I call on the Lord for this generation that they will encounter the true and Living God.
ReplyDeleteDon you are so insightful! You must have been listening to the same voice I have. Tomorrow's post is about the VOICE OF ONE crying in the wilderness.
ReplyDeleteAh I read it a little while ago and it's my favorite so far. Really nice job!
