Feast of Pentecost - Charles Parham, John G. Lake, Azuza street.

Excerpts taken from chapter 18 of a book entitled  Deuteronomy : the second law - speech 1  author: Dr. Stephen Jones -  Deuteronomy  It is of particular interest to me that Seymour would receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit on a street named Bony Bray, for it is a sign of Pentecost. As I wrote in my book on  The Wheat and Asses of Pentecost , Samson was an Old Testament Pentecostal type when he killed a thousand Philistines with the jawbone of an ass. Hence “Bony Bray” street is a fitting location for the most well-known beginning points of modern Pentecost... ...In the midst of these events, John Alexander Dowie was founding a Pentecostal work at Zion, Illinois. He decided upon that location by the end of December in 1899, just before New Year’s Day when the Holy Spirit was poured out in Topeka, Kansas under Parham’s ministry. On page 52  Mrs. Parham wrote about how this began, Sister Agnes N. Ozman, (now LaBerge) asked that hands might be laid upon her to receive the Holy

The Shared Roots of Mental and Physical Pain When we marginalize people socially we increase their pain "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me." The old adage is being called into question by new research from UCLA: Dr. Naomi Eisenberger has found that social rejection and physical pain are intrinsically linked in the brain, so much so that a lack of the former can impact the latter. How social rejection might affect physical pain In an experiment published in the 2006 issue of the journal  Pain , Eisenberger used 75 subjects to explore perceptions of physical pain in the context of social situations. First, researchers identified each person’s unique pain threshold  by transmitting varying levels of heat to the forearm. Participants rated pain levels until they reached “very unpleasant.” This provided a baseline for personal pain thresholds under normal conditions. Participants then participated in a ball-tossing game with

YIELD - JESUS IS KING

THE PLUMBLINE INITIATIVE A few of us, went to Hwy 169 / Minnesota River bridge at the large rock by the entrance ramp to Hwy 169 northbound and dropped our plumb-lines last night. We were 24 hours late for the Call to the Wall event, (details below) we felt a bit like the Israelites celebrating Passover in the second month, when they could not celebrate it at the proper time in the first month.  After an intense time of prayer and declarations of Jesus as King, I looked up and saw a sign, I mean, I saw a literal, physical sign. It was red and white and shaped just like a plum-bob, a triangle with the point pointing down at the earth and the sign said only one word...   YIELD! As in YIELD! to King Jesus, we declared our desire to YIELD! to the King of glory and we welcomed Him as king of this region into the gates of the city/region.  We declared this city would yield their rights to the King of Kings, to let the King of Glory come in. we followed with the declarations
