Did you wake up wondering what your spouse got you for Christmas?  Wondering if all the kids would make it home this year?  Wondering, if there were enough places at the table for an additional guest or two?  As you celebrate the first advent of Jesus the Christ today with your family and friends.  As you feast  As you give and receive gifts.  As you connect with those you have not seen for a long time.  As you recount the joys and sorrows of the last year. As you laugh at other's jokes and tell stories. As you play games, wash dishes, or just watch the excitement of the children during this day of expectation.   Remember, there is also a second advent of Jesus Christ promised.    And one day soon we will wake up to a trumpet blast that shakes the earth and find that He has come in middle of the night,   (not Santa) but Jesus Christ our bridegroom.  We may find ourselves, acting like little children amazed and wondering at all the goodness that awai

AT THIS TIME OF YEAR WE FOCUS ON THE ENTRY OF JESUS INTO OUR WORLD. Even though we know Jesus was likely born at another time of the year, and did not come into the world on Dec 25th, we play out the popular cultural traditions and sort of pretend it is His Birthday. This week as we celebrate what the Old Testament prophets predicted namely that God would come and be with us (Emmanuel God with us) Jesus fulfilled that word and was the exact likeness of the Father in all He did and said while he was with us. But Jesus is not in the manager tonight. He is not in another house in Bethlehem. He is not standing in front of the council He is not on trial, on the cross or in the grave. Although we can celebrate these events and that would be good, but I think tonight I am going to focus on another advent. The second coming of Jesus as Christ the reigning King. In fact in Scripture Jesus as  God with us only lasted for 33 years, then 40 days after his death and resurrection. Je

I  shamelessly  stole this post today from Steve Youngblood's Face book page, because I  wanted to  share  it with you... this is a great confirmation to my earlier post  Forgive Everyone Everything .  I don't think that Steve is aware of Shemitah or that next year is the biblical Jubilee. But his post falls right into the current word for this time, forgive and be forgiven. Prepare for Jubilee, put your house in order.  Amnesty - What a wonderful word. Definition:  forgiveness, broad-based forgiveness to a person or a group of persons of all crimes or offenses. It's freedom, a new beginning. Those who have been ostracized from a community,  are released from judgments  and allowed to go home or re-enter that society. God granted Amnesty to us when we repented of our sin. We were not required to "do the time", Christ did it for us. It granted free entrance into His Kingdom and family. The Lord's prayer says.

DAY 10: GOD IS ABLE! I keep hearing " GOD IS ABLE!"   I believe this is a word for each of us as we enter this new season. The Holy Spirit seems to be beckoning me to pray for Gods' people to declare and embrace  GOD'S ABILITY to make each one of us able to overcome . Faith should be growing, and steadfast. Faith should be abiding, and continuing. Faith should be creating advancement in God's Kingdom.  I see that we have grown anxious in the cares of this world. We have fallen into fear of failure, fear of harm, fear of abandonment, and fear of the future. We have forgotten God's ability to bless. As I prayed the phrase,  "God is able,"  faith rose in me for us.  I saw that our seeking must progress from little faith to overcoming power.  GOD IS ABLE TO DRESS YOU, GIVE YOU WEAPONS, AND SEND YOU INTO THE WAR VICTORIOUSLY!   Sometimes we do not quite have our armor in position. Day 9:  A Hole in our Soul and a Grieving Spirit Can Create Dread! Rebekah Faubion and Penny Jackson have helped us the last two days to deal with some of the wounds in our lives. Grief can lead you to dread. Have you ever listened to someone talk about what bad could happen next week, or next month, or even in the years to come?  They dread getting up in the morning because of what could happen by the end of the day.  Penny continues to help us better define the dread by writing the following: I was helping my tutor student prepare for his English final exam the other day.  We were going over the story of Pandora in Greek mythology, one I hadn't thought about in years. I knew the basics: she is given a box and told not to open it. Curiosity got the best of her, she opened it, and evils (greed, pain, misery, etc.) started entering the world for the first time.
