                                             ============================

We have two guiding Scripture passages that make up the “rails” if you will, of the Thursday night prayer group.

The first is the Scripture that Don shared as something God had spoken about this group.

I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.                                                    Ezekiel 22:30

We have been told that this prayer group is somewhat unique, and we believe it was founded by the will of God. They say, How many churches do you think have a prophetic intercessor group, made up almost exclusively of males?

We have been meeting weekly for six years now.
We are called to contend for this city, for this region, and for the souls of the men and women, boys and girls, who live here, both as individuals and as a group of intercessors.

We are called to pray for Salvation (SOZO) in all three expressions.
  1.      Redemption from the sinful nature
  2.      Deliverance from all demonic spiritual bondage/influence
  3.     Healing of all diseases that are the work of the curse
The second rail is a Scripture that is the key to all Spirit-led prayer in the Church.

Likewise, the Spirit also helps with our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.                                                   Romans 8:26-27

The context of this verse of Scripture in Romans 8 is that:

1.   Creation groans to see the manifestation of the sons of God comes to fruition. (v22)
2.   We groan to see ourselves come into full sonship, the redemption of our bodies. (v23)
3.   The Spirit groans making intercession for us according to the will of God. (v26)
                                    -------
21 … the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.
23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.
then our original text in verse 26 ...
26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. - ROMANS 8-

For this reason, we have purposely dedicated time to a personal connection with God at the outset of each meeting. In order to facilitate this process of seeking the mind of God, before praying, we have provided:

·         Spiritually appropriate soaking music.
·         Low lighting (to lower the distraction factor of others)
·         Ample time to connect with the Lord.
·         Enough physical space to get alone with God.

As we come together to pray
·         We have encouraged people to pray only what has been impressed on them after seeking the heart of the Lord.
·         We have encouraged prophecy, exhortation, declarations, words of knowledge, visions, dreams, and words of wisdom.
·         We have encouraged obedience through prophetic actions and/or applications immediately following the receiving a word, an impression, or a vision.
·         We have borne with each other’s infirmities, shyness, timidity, immaturity, sickness, etc.
·         We have prayed for each other.
·         We have left the ending time open to the ebb and flow of the Spirit of prophecy and intercession.
