DAY 35 - Starts at sundown Sunday September 8th

Day of Atonement is NOW only five (5) days away. 
In 1971 the rapid growth of the Charismatic renewal was partly the result of hearing the frequent teaching that Jesus is coming soon, perhaps any day.
Forty two (42) years later, not so much...now the message is...Is Jesus Coming soon?

9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. II Peter 3: 9

Are we a generation that will pass away without seeing the promise?  
My grandfather believed he would live to see Jesus come back to the earth, and he died in 1999 at 100 yrs. old, not having seen the promise.

The Day of the Lord

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.[b] 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness II Peter 3: 9-11

Yesterday we talked about the 5 prepared virgins who watched and prayed and the 5 unprepared who were awakened in alarm at the sound of the awakening blast.  We were comparing the ten Days of Awe to the 10 virgins, Fortunately every year, there were ten days to return to the Lord after the awakening blast.  Ten days to go out and purchase oil and for us in this campaign, now five of those days are gone forever and only five remain...

Perhaps like me, you have been in the process of returning to the Lord over these last 35 days.
I have enjoying the heightened sense of His presence that comes with a focused season of prayer.   I have also experienced the increased warfare that comes from taking ground back.  

Last night, I spent most of the night wrestling in prayer for members of my family,  I prayed for each child by name, asking God to intervene in the eternal and the temporal matters of their lives. Of course some of the things our children struggle with are the results of things we did or did not do;  The result of things we said or did not say.  The rest is their own responsibility to walk out the truth they know or do not yet know.


They are the products of our lives and today the question is; Are they prepared?

Have we taught them how to 'buy' oil, how 'trim the wick' of their lamp?

Have we painted the picture for them of His imminent return?

I can't answer the question of when exactly Jesus is coming, although in many places where people are still experiencing revival fire, they are saying His coming is very soon even at the door!

“The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 21 nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’[d] For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”

22 Then He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. 23 And they will say to you, ‘Look here!’ or ‘Look there!’[e] Do not go after them or follow them. 2 

4 For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day. 
25 But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. 2 

6 And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27 They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 2
8 Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot,  They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; 29 but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 

30 Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.31 “In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back.  

32 Remember Lot’s wife. 33 Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. 34 I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left. 35 Two women will be grinding together: the one will be taken and the other left. 36 Two men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left.”  Luke 17

Can I say this?  No matter what the answer is...buy oil now!
