THE PROMISE OF NEW LIFE - the last Day of Unleavened Bread
THE PROMISE OF NEW LIFE - the last Day of Unleavened Bread
The Church of Jesus Christ truly is 'His body'. Could it be that the promise in the seven-day Feast of Unleavened Bread is actually a promise to the saints both the 'Dead in Christ' and those of us who are alive, that our bodies would not ultimately see (corruption) but will be raised to immortality at the day of Jesus Christ?
Spiritual safety and security
"being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;"
Philipians 1:6
This first verse is interesting because it covers the entire wilderness season between our 'exodus' from the world system through personal salvation and our ability to stand before Him faultless on that day when he returns. and "He is not slack concerning His promises."
But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.Read the whole chapter of 1 Corinthians 15
here are some bullet points
- I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you,
- Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
- He was buried.
- He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,
The Risen Christ is Our Hope for Eternal Life
- if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead
- how do you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
- if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen.
- if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty
- Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ,
- whom He did not raise up—if in fact the dead do not rise.
- For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen.
- if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins!
- Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.
- If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable.
The Last Enemy Destroyed
- But now Christ is risen from the dead
- the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
- by one man (Adam) came death.
- by one Man (Jesus, the second Adam) also came the resurrection of the dead.
- For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ (the second Adam) all shall be made alive.
- Christ the firstfruits, (is raised to immortality)
- Afterward, those who are Christ’s -- WHO (are raised to immortality) at His coming. --WHEN
- He (Jesus) must reign until He has put all enemies under His feet.
- The last enemy that will be destroyed is death.
