THE HIDDEN PROMISE IN THE UNLEAVENED BREAD

This year as COVID-19 threatens our sense of safety and preservation, we need more than ever to understand that the Seven Feasts of the NEW Covenant are not just symbols to make us feel like we are part of something bigger than ourselves. They point to the reality of our deliverance and the staying power of the gospel!

PASSOVER
We might be aware that Jesus died at 3 pm (the Ninth hour) at the very time the sacrificial Pesach lamb was to be slaughtered on the Day of Preparation fulfilling this feast as the ultimate Passover Lamb of God.

Was this merely, symbolic? Were the cup and the bread just memory keys... so-called symbols of His suffering and death? I do not think so. The Bible says "His blood speaks a better word" it says that His blood sacrifice forever removes our sin, it wiped away the accusations (the legal charges drawn up against me and you) written against us.
You have come to Jesus, who arranged the new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that promises much better things than does the blood of Abel Hebrews 12:24
Here is the best part, not only did he deliver us... by removing our sins, but He has the power to keep us

'the wages of Sin is death'...

When he removed our sins (not just covered our sins as past sacrifices did) then there was NO SIN, left on our account, therefore there is NO DEATH as the payment required for our sin! Since his death paid off our account and brought it to a zero balance.

Since Jesus took all of our sins upon Himself. We were left with NO SIN... therefore there is nothing for death to hold onto in our lives. Ultimately we cannot remain dead.

Death has lost its legal claim over our bodies, Death now has no hold on us. How can we know this?
... Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” Jude 1:9
Even under the Old Covenant, the body of Moses legally belonged to the Lord and He did not allow the devil to take it but He sent Michael the archangel to bring a dispute (that describes taking legal action) and claim it for the Kingdom of Heaven.

What do you need to dispute? What do you need to bring legal action to address? What is the devil trying to steal from you? Peace? Joy? Security? Safety? Your health? Your well being? The courts of Heaven are not shut down during this pandemic. You can overcome the evil one "with the Blood of the lamb, and the word of your testimony, and not clinging to your life" but clinging to the one who gave up his life for you.

Here are some Scriptures of the NEW Covenant that will encourage you.
  • as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death...
  • If we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also in the likeness of His resurrection
  • Our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with,
  • We should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin.
  • If we died with Christ, we shall also live with Himknowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more.
  • Death no longer has dominion over HimFor the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  • The wages of Sin is death
  • But...The gift of God is eternal life
- taken directly from Romans 6:2-23
  • And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh,
  • He has made alive together with Him,
  • having forgiven you all trespasses,
  • having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us.
  • He has taken it out of the way,
  • having nailed it to the cross.
  • Having disarmed principalities and powers,
  • He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

- taken directly from Colossians 2:14

The Church of Jesus Christ is 'His body'.
Could it be that the promise hidden in the seven-day Feast of Unleavened Bread is actually a promise to the saints both the 'Dead in Christ' and those of us who are alive, that our bodies would not ultimately see (corruption) but will be raised to immortality at the day of Jesus Christ?

Spiritual safety and security
"being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;"
Philipians 1:6

This first verse is interesting because it covers the entire wilderness season between our exodus from the world system through personal salvation and our ability to stand before Him faultless on that day when he returns.

He is not slack concerning His promises.
But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
