NEW WINE REQUIRES NEW WINE SKINS - NEW WINESKINS REQUIRE A FRESH SACRIFICE

Image
NEW WINE REQUIRES NEW WINESKINS!  You cannot form a new wineskin without a fresh sacrifice. We picture wine in bottles made of glass but when the Bible talks about new wine it says you cannot put new wine into old wineskins. Wineskins were made from animal skins. In order to make a wineskin, there must be a fresh sacrifice, an animal must die to provide the raw materials for the wineskin. Wineskins were typically made from goat skins. “No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse.   Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.   Matthew 9: 16-17 Old wineskins were fashioned from a sacrifice of the past it had the grace to bear the wine of that former season but it cannot house the 'alive' active wine of this new season without...

THE LETTER VS. THE SPIRIT - NEVER MORE CLEAR THAN AT THE FEAST OF WEEKS.

Image
THE FEAST OF WEEKS CELEBRATES THE GIVING OF THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE OLD COVENANT AND THE GIVING OF THE INSTRUCTOR IN THE NEW COVENANT.  The letter of the law kills... but the Spirit gives life.        2 Corinthians 3:6 Let's face it without the Holy Spirit leading and guiding us from within, as humans we always default towards the 'letter' of the law. Only with the Holy Spirit leading us can we grasp the 'spirit' of the law.  The Letter Kills  At Mount Sinai, the law (Instructions) was inscribed by the finger of God onto tablets of stone that God Himself carved with His own hands out of the mountain.  Once completed He placed these tablets into Moses' hands.  This was the ultimate expression of the letter of the law, they were engraved into stone tablets, by the finger of God therefore they were rigid, unbending, and literally set in stone.   The letter of the law kills... but the Spirit gives life.    This story was no d...

MY SEVEN REASONS TO BE THANKFUL AT THE FEAST OF WEEKS

Image
MY SEVEN REASONS TO BE THANKFUL AT THE FEAST OF WEEKS  This Feast in the Old Covenant marks the memorial of God's People receiving the Instructions of God, written by the finger of God on rigid tablets of stone, that were hewn out of the mountain by God himself. Epic! In the New Covenant, this feast becomes even more epic! A feast thanking Our Heavenly Father and Jesus for sending the Person of the Holy Spirit and Welcoming the Holy Spirit as the Instructor who dwells inside of us and writes God's laws (instructions for life)  internally on the flesh (tablets) of our hearts.   Seven gifts to be thankful for during the feast of Weeks.  Thankful for the Gift of the Holy Spirit  Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive  the gift  of the Holy Spirit Thankful for the Instructor  But this is...

SEVEN REASONS WHY NT BELIEVERS SHOULD KEEP THE FEAST OF WEEKS - SHAVUOT

Image
The content below was taken from the Christ Plus Zero Movement blog.  The content was so good so I copied it, edited it, reformatted it, and made some corrections. You can see the original article by clicking on this link  Christ Plus Zero Movement blog . 1.      Because on one solemn antitypical Shavuot around 2000 years ago, dozens of devout followers of Christ were permanently indwelt by the Holy Ghost during observation of this very same feast.  2.      Because this event (in Acts 2) is seen as the inauguration of the New Testament assembly/church/congregation,  all for whom Christ died should commemorate this feast in Thanksgiving for the Father sending another comforter to His assembly/congregation/church. 3.      Because Shavuot is a divine and perpetual ordinance (Leviticus 23:21). 4.      Because Shavuot is indicative of Gentiles joining the people of God.  T...

RITUALS HAVE THE POWER TO MAKE MEMORIES

Image
RITUALS HAVE THE POWER TO MAKE MEMORIES - don't discount them.  All special days, across all cultures, have rituals involved in the observation of those ‘Holidays’. While some rituals are so familiar to us we do not even think of them as ritualistic,  foreigners may look at what we do and would ask why do you do these rituals?  To which we would probably say “I don’t know, it is just part of the way we celebrate this particular holiday or event.” IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG WITH RITUALS? Rituals are not good or bad in themselves, they are the building blocks of making Memories, but they can also lull us to sleep if we are just going through the motions. Rituals can be anything from the way we start the day, to how we squeeze or roll the toothpaste. Special readings, even cliches.  Memories are built when we're successful in making the day special, and out of the ordinary. This may be a one-time event like a trip to a monument or to the Grand Canyon. It can al...

Reversing the Flooding River of Death and a town called Adam

God’s Commission to Joshua (Yeshua)  After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying: “Moses My servant is dead. Now, therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all these people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.   Joshua 1:1-3 Maybe you have heard elements of the story of crossing the Jordan, most however are unaware of what day it took place or even what season it happened in. Discovering which day it took place adds another dimension, it reveals another aspect of the purposes of God being accomplished at the fullness of time, in order to unveil his plan to redeem the world.  Let's dive into the text and discover what significant day this took place.   Joshua 4:10 says... Now the people came up from the Jordan on the t...

YESHUA HIDDEN IN THE PASSOVER

Image
The Passover Celebration traditions have evolved over the centuries.  the Seder Meal is the kickoff and the most significant event of the seven-day celebration of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. How is Yeshua hidden in the traditions of the Passover Seder? Well let's walk through the order of the Seder meal and we will highlight the parts where Yeshua's actions are foretold in the order. For the most part, I will stay away from Hebrew for the sake of clarity and brevity and use only English terms. For a full-on Hebrew Haggadah look here.  I like the Haggadah (the  order ) in the back pages of Jill Shannon's book A Prophetic Calendar, the Feasts of Israel - "I am the broken piece!" At the Seder meal, there is usually a printed booklet of the order,  for each person attending and each person will read a section from it. The Haggadah  lays out the order of all the prayers, blessings, and symbolic actions taken during this celebratory meal. There are several gr...
