MY SEVEN REASONS TO BE THANKFUL AT THE FEAST OF WEEKS
MY SEVEN REASONS TO BE THANKFUL AT THE FEAST OF WEEKS
This Feast in the Old Covenant marks the memorial of God's People receiving the Instructions of God, written by the finger of God on rigid tablets of stone, that were hewn out of the mountain by God himself. Epic!
In the New Covenant, this feast becomes even more epic! A feast thanking Our Heavenly Father and Jesus for sending the Person of the Holy Spirit and Welcoming the Holy Spirit as the Instructor who dwells inside of us and writes God's laws (instructions for life) internally on the flesh (tablets) of our hearts. Seven gifts to be thankful for during the feast of Weeks.
Thankful for the Gift of the Holy Spirit
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit
Thankful for the Instructor
But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. Jeremiah 31:33, Hebrews 8:10
Thankful for the Glorious ministry of the Holy Spirit
But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? 2 Corinthians 3:7-8
Thankful for the Spirit of Truth
However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. John 16:13
Thankful for the power to be witnesses
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Thankful for the keeping power of the indwelling God.
being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; Philippians 1:6
Thankful for our bodily resurrection on the day of Jesus Christ.
But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Romans 8:11
