YESHUA HIDDEN IN THE PASSOVER

The Passover Celebration traditions have evolved over the centuries.  the Seder Meal is the kickoff and the most significant event of the seven-day celebration of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. How is Yeshua hidden in the traditions of the Passover Seder?

Well let's walk through the order of the Seder meal and we will highlight the parts where Yeshua's actions are foretold in the order. For the most part, I will stay away from Hebrew for the sake of clarity and brevity and use only English terms. For a full-on Hebrew Haggadah look here.

I like the Haggadah (the order) in the back pages of Jill Shannon's book A Prophetic Calendar, the Feasts of Israel - "I am the broken piece!"

At the Seder meal, there is usually a printed booklet of the order, for each person attending and each person will read a section from it. The Haggadah lays out the order of all the prayers, blessings, and symbolic actions taken during this celebratory meal. There are several groupings of four in the Passover meal. Here is an article that lays out all the fours found in the Passover Seder meal.

  • Four declarations from Exodus 6:6-7
    1. I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and
    2. I will deliver you from slavery to them,
    3. I will redeem you with outstretched arm(s) and with great acts of judgment.
    4. I will take you to be my people, and I will be your God,
  • Four cups of wine - tied to the four declarations above
  • Four sons - four responses - The Parable of the Sower
    1. one wise - 30, 60, 100 fold
    2. one wicked-trodden down
    3. one simple - rocky shallow
    4. one who does not know how to ask - trodden soil
  • Four questions - Why is this night different than any other night?
    • 1) On all nights we need not dip even once, on this night we do so twice?
      2) On all nights we eat chametz or matzah, and on this night only matzah?
      3) On all nights we eat any kind of vegetables, and on this night maror?
      4) On all nights we eat sitting upright or reclining, and on this night we all recline?
  • Four pieces of Matzah 3 pieces but the middle one is broken into 2 pieces
  • Four sections to the Order*

The order can vary from place to place and from family to family. The rituals have evolved through the centuries but the basic order has remained. There are 14 items in the order but they can be divided into four basic sections.
