FEAST Of TRUMPETS 2020

TRUMPETS - The Awakening Blast

Last December I felt an impression from God to pay attention to Purim. I shared this with a couple of my friends. I had to look it up to find out when it occurred in 2020. In the book of Esther in the bible, we find a story that in essence tells the story of Redemption. It also surrounds a theme of the days of Purim.

HAMAN AND THE DAYS OF PURIM

Haman was an official of the Government who hated God's people. He especially hated a man named Mordecai (the Jew) who sat in the king's gate. He was incensed because Mordecai (the Jew) would not bow down before him when he passed through the gate. His hatred grew until he wanted to kill all the Jews in the Persian empire because of his hatred for Mordecai (the Jew). Haman consulted with the occult world by casting the PUR to determine what day would be best to execute his plan for the genocide of all the Jews.

Here is the account in Esther chapter 3 -
King Ahasuerus promoted Haman, the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him and set his seat above all the princes who were with him. And all the king’s servants who were within the king’s gate bowed and paid homage to Haman, for so the king had commanded concerning him. But Mordecai would not bow or pay homage. Then the king’s servants who were within the king’s gate said to Mordecai, “Why do you transgress the king’s command?” Now it happened, when they spoke to him daily and he would not listen to them, that they told it to Haman, to see whether Mordecai’s words would stand; for Mordecai had told them that he was a Jew. When Haman saw that Mordecai did not bow or pay him homage, Haman was filled with wrath. But he disdained to lay hands on Mordecai alone, for they had told him of the people of Mordecai. Instead, Haman sought to destroy all the Jews who were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus—the people of Mordecai.

He cast the PUR in the first month (prior to the 13th) and the PUR fell on 12-13
In the first month, which is the month of Nisan, in the twelfth year of King Ahasuerus, they cast Pur (that is, the lot), before Haman to determine the day and the month, until it fell on the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar.

Then the king’s scribes were called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and a decree was written according to all that Haman commanded

This proclamation went out the same date as the day when Jesus celebrated Passover with his disciples during the Passion week on Nisan (Abib) 13. the night He was betrayed. One day before he died on Nisan 14.

V13 And the letters were sent by couriers into all the king’s provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to annihilate all the Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar, and to plunder their possessions.

It was 12-13-2019 on the Gregorian calendar when the U.S, House of Representatives drafted the 2 articles of impeachment against President Trump and it was March 11, 2020, or (12-13/14 on the biblical calendar) Purim- Shushan) when the WHO - (World Health Organization) declared a worldwide pandemic. The hatred for Trump is similar to the hatred of Mordecai by the bureaucrat Haman.

That brings us to the Feast of Trumpets 2020 - because God had impressed me to pay attention to Purim this year. I felt like I should pay special attention to all of the feasts this year as they would have a deeper significance.

20 - 20 there are two widely accepted but different views of the meaning of the number 20 in the Scriptures.

The First is Expectation and the Second is Redemption.  I believe that in the year 2020 we are seeing both meanings combined into one. In other words, we are seeing the 'expectation' of 'redemption' and we all feel the need for redemption.

The two-day Feast of Trumpets is about expectation and redemption as well so we could say instead of Trumpets 20/20 2020. Or expectation/redemption in the year of expectation and redemption.

This brings up a good question to ask ourselves... What are we expecting?

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a Jewish woman a Supreme Court Justice in the United States of America, she was an advocate for women's rights including the 'right' to kill their babies. She passed on the eve of Trumpets this year, at age 87.

Are you expecting to see the goodness of God in the land of the free and the home of the brave?

or the evil of men in the land of destruction and despair?

The Feast of Trumpets begins the countdown to the Day of Atonement. Next time the Days of Awe

Next time the Day of Atonement
