THE 8th MOUNTAIN OF INFLUENCE

40 years ago 3 Leaders of the Christian world discovered a common perspective on culture. 

There are 7 Mountains of Influence in Culture...

In 1975, Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade, and Loren Cunningham, founder of Youth With a Mission, had lunch together in Colorado. God simultaneously gave each of these change agents a message to give to the other. 

During that same time frame a modern day Theologian, Francis Schaeffer, was given a similar message. That message was that if we are to impact any nation for Jesus Christ, then we would have to affect the seven spheres, or mountains of society that are the pillars of any society. There are many subgroups under these main categories.

These seven mountains are: 

1. business, 
2. government, 
3. media, 
4. arts & entertainment, 
5. education, 
6. the family  
7. religion. 

 In essence, God was telling these three change agents where the battlefield was. It was here where culture would be won or lost. Their assignment was to raise up change agents to scale the mountains and to help a new generation of change agents understand the larger story.

Isaiah speaks from a different perspective on this topic of mountains of influence, here is his declaration from heaven: 

Now it shall come to pass in the latter days.That the mountain* of the Lord’s house. Shall be established on the top of the mountains*, And shall be exalted above the hills; 
And all nations shall flow to it.  

3  Many people shall come and say,
“Come, and let us go up to the mountain* of the Lord,
To the house of the God of Jacob;
He will teach us His ways,
And we shall walk in His paths.
”For out of Zion shall go forth the law,
And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. Isaiah 2:2-3

 (*sphere of influence) 

In the latter days the mountain* of the Lord's house shall be established.

So the eighth mountain is the one mountain to influence or (rule over them all) according to the Scripture in Isaiah it will be above established above all the seven mountains. 

It will rule over them and it will dictate to them the culture that is permitted and that which is not permitted. 
Lets change the word mountain to sphere of influence and see how this reads

Now it shall come to pass in the latter days.That the sphere of influence of the Lord’s house. Shall be established on the top above the other spheres of influence, And shall be exalted above the sub groups of influence; 
And all nations shall flow to it.  

3  Many people shall come and say,
“Come, and let us go up to the sphere of the Lord's influence,
To the house of the God of Jacob;
He will teach us His ways, (cultural influence on Education)
And we shall walk in His paths. (cultural influence on Family)
”For out of Zion shall go forth the law, (cultural influence on Government)
And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. (cultural influence on Religion) 

Isaiah 2:2-3

Thank you for your word and we declare it over this region.  God we proclaim your word in Isaiah. The sphere of influence that comes from God would be established that it would dictate, that it would influence every other mountain until they all become changed, one by one to come under the influence and oversight of the eighth mountain, THE MOUNTAIN OF THE LORD.
