WOULD YOU BLOW OFF AN APPOINTMENT WITH GOD?

THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES IS AN APPOINTMENT WITH GOD

You might say, "Tabernacles was clearly required of Israel, but not for the church." Tabernacles is the dress rehearsal for the coming 1000 year reign of Jesus on the earth.

Do you see yourself being on the earth during the physical 1000 reign of Jesus?

Did you know that all of the Feasts of the Lord are God's appointed times, or 'dress rehearsals' for the time when we will walk through these realities on the earth? Do you want to navigate those days without going to the dress rehearsals?

Let's back up and take a good look at your perception logically...

Israel was instructed to support the Levites, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow through their tithe, that tithe is widely preached in every church today as though it is still applicable in the New Covenant even though it was the instruction given specifically to the Hebrew people and we do not have Levites anymore.

In fact, in the very same passage, just preceding the instruction concerning the Levite tithe and the giving to the poor (mentioned above) was the instruction to bring the tithe of the 'Feasts of the Lord' to each of the three feasts every year. But if we do not observe God's feasts then how then do we obey the instructions to bring these tithes to the feasts?

On the other hand, if we promote the 'Levite' support tithe in the Church today, we must also promote the 'Feast of the Lord tithe', they are literally found back to back in the same passage of Scripture.

If we go back and read the instructions for this 'Feast of the Lord' tithe it requires that we first observe the feast(s) because we are instructed to bring our tithes and eat them in the 'House of the Lord' during the 'appointed times' with all who are gathered there in the presence of the Lord.

If we dismiss the Feasts of the Lord as unrelated to the church and do not celebrate them because we see them as an option only for the radical or the legalistic, then we must also render the sermons about 'tithing' as Jewish and unrelated to the church age, as an option only for the radical or legalistic.

Since the 'Feast of the Lord' tithe comes first in the passage, it is presented as preeminent over the Levite and benevolence tithe. So if the 'Feast of the Lord tithe no longer applies to the church, then also the later tithe no longer applies.

The 'Feast of the Lord' tithe comes due nine times more frequently than the Levite/benevolence tithe. (Due three times a year vs. only once every three years for the Levitical/benevolence tithe).

The Ten Commandments were clearly given specifically to natural Israel, yet we teach that they are applicable in the church today.

Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the Feast of Tabernacles for seven days to the Lord. On the first day, there shall be a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it For seven days you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. On the eighth day, you shall have a holy convocation, and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord. It is a sacred assembly, and you shall do no customary work on it.

‘Also on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruit of the land, you shall keep the feast of the Lord for seven days; on the first day there shall be a sabbath-rest and on the eighth day a sabbath-rest

And you shall take for yourselves on the first day the fruit of beautiful trees, branches of palm trees, the boughs of leafy trees, and willows of the brook; and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God for seven days. You shall keep it as a feast to the Lord for seven days in the year.

HOW LONG DOES THE COMMANDMENT STAND?

It shall be a statute for ever in your generations. You shall celebrate it in the seventh month. You shall dwell in booths for seven days. All who are native Israelites shall dwell in booths, that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.’" So Moses declared to the children of Israel the feasts of the Lord. Leviticus 23: 33-44
