MODERN WAYS TO PROCLAIM THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES

Feast of Tabernacles, how can we celebrate it today?

When?  The seventh month, from the 15th day - the 22nd day.
This year October 2, 2020, at Sundown until October 10, 2020, at Sundown.  Typically September into October on the Gregorian calendar. This would be a perfect schedule for Church conferences, spiritual retreats, church camps, and camping trips each year.

What? Stay in 'temporary' dwellings?
The modern version of 'Tabernacles' or 'booths' could be 'camping' in tents or in a camper, RV, or cabin, but it could also be rented rooms at hotels or a vacation home rental. It may be too late to do something this year...

Who? You and your household - I am trying to implement this plan with my family for Tabernacles in the year 2021, I am hoping to plan a trip on September 20-28 with my family (if they agree) to the Duluth area to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles as a family. You could do something similar, here are the instructions from the Scripture

And you shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen or sheep, for wine or similar drink, for whatever your heart desires; you shall eat there before the Lord your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household

                                                                                                        Deuteronomy 14:26

If you decide to follow the Lord's instruction to set aside the "Feast of the Lord tithe' One-tenth of your annual income...You can rent the nicest place, this is a harvest celebration and a Thanksgiving celebration rolled into one.

I had never thought of a hotel as a way to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles, this video lays out how the tithe could be applied to 'temporary' dwellings in our modern world.

Instructions for the Feast of the Lord Tithe.

“You shall truly tithe all the increase of your grain that the field produces year by year. And you shall eat before the Lord your God, in the place where He chooses to make His name abide, the tithe of your grain and your new wine and your oil, of the firstborn of your herds and your flocks, that you may learn to fear the Lord your God always.

But if the journey is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry the tithe, or if the place where the Lord your God chooses to put His name is too far from you, when the Lord your God has blessed you, then you shall exchange it for money, take the money in your hand, and go to the place which the Lord your God chooses. And you shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen or sheep, for wine or similar drink, for whatever your heart desires; you shall eat there before the Lord your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household. Deuteronomy 14:22-27
