It is high time to pull out the prophetic words spoken over you and to shake off the dust from them.

RETURN TO ME... ALL YOU WEARY AND I WILL GIVE YOU REST

SHEMITAH - A SET APART YEAR TO ENTER HIS REST
There has been a growing sense within me that we are each to return to our inheritance during this season. Which you all know, I have mentioned several times this past year. However, I saw something clearer this morning than ever before.

If we were under the old covenant, with the (physical) sacrifices of lambs and goats and bulls, then, of course, we would be returning to the (physical) land left to us by our earthly fathers, our (physical) earthly inheritance.

But we have entered into the New Covenant, where the blood of Christ speaks a better word. In this covenant, the spiritual has replaced the mere shadow of the old covenant, which dealt in the temporary (physical things) that have both a beginning and an end. These spiritual things are eternal and therefore our inheritance is a spiritual place or if you will it is a spiritual land that we return to.

In the new covenant, our inheritance is what has been given to us by our Heavenly Father.

So during this Shemitah year...
We return from the limitations of what mere men have said concerning our:
  1. Identity, (who we are and whose we are)
  2. Calling (what we were made to do on the earth )
  3. Destiny (what we were fashioned to become)
We return to live in the identity, calling and destiny that our Heavenly Father has given to us. (our heavenly inheritance)

Picture the process for a (natural) man to return to his (natural) land after living away from it for seven years.  He would have to (physically) move out of the servant's quarters at his master's house and return to his own house. He would have to go out and check the boundary markers before doing anything with the land.

As Henry Blackaby says in his book Experiencing God

Don't just do something, stand there!

He would have to set up all the functions at his home that are necessary. When you own the house it is totally different than when you serve in someone else's house.  In a way it is more work to live in your own house, all the responsibility lies on your shoulders.

But... you get to eat the fruit of your labors!

God is restoring sons and daughters to their identity, and their destiny, so he can send forth laborers into the fields...but they are not a generic set of fields, belonging to someone else, we are not slaves on a giant plantation.

But He is sending us into our own fields, white unto harvest, Shemitah is a year of rest, no sweat. it is the year where the curse put on Adam is fully reversed.  During Shemitah and jubilee, you will not have to earn your bread by the sweat of your brow. You just walk through the fields and gather what falls off the stalk.

We must strive to enter His rest, and He'll take care of the rest, all of the rest.
Scripture says it this way:

"Seek first the Kingdom of God and all these things will be added to you."

In the same way, we need to check out the words God has spoken to us before we go out and attempt to DO something with our spiritual inheritance.

It is high time to pull out the prophetic words spoken over you and to dust them off.

They are like the iron posts driven into the ground that reflect the surveyor's plat map detailing and describing what your inheritance is.

  1. Mark out the boundaries of what God says is your inheritance.
  2. Then go live on your land, even if you have to camp out under the stars or in a tent until the house can be built.
  3. Get yourself positioned on that land now, rest now because the Jubilee is coming!
