WAS OUR THANKSGIVING SEASON TOO SHORT?
Thanksgiving with feasting was instructed by God as a Joyful lifestyle, this feasting lasted seven or eight days twice each year.
God instructed his people to set aside 10% of their income in order to have funds to enjoy the fruits of their hands three times a year in his presence. Each of these times was connected to a particular Harvest. we find these instructions in Deuteronomy. the book of Malachi asks this question. "Will a man rob God?"
“You shall truly tithe all the increase of your grain that the field produces year by year. And you shall eat before the Lord your God, in the place where He chooses to make His name abide, the tithe of your grain and your new wine and your oil, of the firstborn of your herds and your flocks, that you may learn to fear the Lord your God always. Deuteronomy 14:22
“Three times a year* all your males shall appear before the Lord your God in the place which He chooses: at the Feast of Unleavened Bread, at the Feast of Weeks, and at the Feast of Tabernacles; and they shall not appear before the Lord empty-handed. Deuteronomy 16:16, Exodus 23:14-17
But if the journey is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry the tithe, or if the place where the Lord your God chooses to put His name is too far from you, when the Lord your God has blessed you, then you shall exchange it for money, take the money in your hand, and go to the place which the Lord your God chooses. And you shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen or sheep, for wine or similar drink, for whatever your heart desires; you shall eat there before the Lord your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household. Deuteronomy 14:24-26

the response, "How have we robbed God?"
In the tithes, the Feast of the Lord tithe is given three times a year and the other tithe is collected once every three years.
Have we robbed God of our joy, our thanks, our celebration of His faithfulness. The tithe is not God's tax it is not a tip for good service. Sons do not pay taxes, it is an expression of Him as our provider as our Abba. What father (being evil) does not enjoy watching his children open a gift or eat freshly baked cookies? How much more does your Heavenly Father want you to enjoy His abundant life.
We celebrate on the earth by eating and drinking. God wants His children to celebrate in His presence.
