TESHUVAH & MATTHEW 22
Teshuvah takes place from September 1 - through Oct 10 this year...
Let's take a look at Matthew 22 and then maybe we will understand Teshuvah's two parts the first 30 days and the last 10 days.
This first phase of the story is the 'Days of Elijah' a voice calling men to decide once and for all, who is God, and then worship Him. In these final days, God will not always strive with man, but after being refused over and over again, He will come swiftly and suddenly and take his bride with Him on the Feast of Trumpets.
So the first 30 days are for the bride to RETURN. We see this in the message to the church in Ephesus, in the book of Revelation chapter 2.
When we look back at the Spring Feasts again, we can see that they were all 'harvest' feasts. and so if we look through the history of man we can see the three major feasts prophetically in the seasons of God.
Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. He sent his servants (the prophets) to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come.
“Then he sent some more servants (prophets, revivalists) and said, ‘Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.’ (NOW!) (implied) Matthew 22:1-4
Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen!
Repent (return) and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent (return), I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. Revelation 2:4-5
“But they paid no attention and went off—one to his field, another to his business. The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them. The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city Matthew 22:6-7This Scripture passage verses 5-7 above is talking about Israel and refers to the Great 'Tribulation' or the time of 'Jacobs trouble' with all the bowls and all the 'trumpets'. Those who refused to come "like in the days of Noah" will be unable to come on their own once God closes the door of Salvation.
When we look back at the Spring Feasts again, we can see that they were all 'harvest' feasts. and so if we look through the history of man we can see the three major feasts prophetically in the seasons of God.
- Passover - Barley Harvest - Incorruptible bread = Overcomer
- Pentecost - Wheat Harvest - Indwelling Spirit of God = Able to stand
- Tabernacles - Nuts, Fruit trees, New Wine - The tree of life (in Jesus) is restored to Adam's race.
“Then he said to his servants...
‘The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. So go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.’
So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests. Matthew 22:8-10
In the Matthew passage above we see the nuts and the fruits (puns intended) the servants brought everybody in to fill the chairs, the bad as well as the good, the 'nuts' as well as the 'fruits'.
So back to the Fall Feasts - here is the sequence of events
The entire Sixth month 'Elul' = New Moon
- Teshuvah (30 days) for the 'bride' (New Jerusalem) to return to her first love
- Trumpets (2 days) (the wedding day of the King and his bride)
Last Call for the who-so-ever-will to be reconciled to God) the 'sheep' nations come in, the 'goat' nations refuse to come in.
- Day of Atonement (the dead and the living on the earth will be judged) the 'sheep' nations separated from the 'goat' nations.
"every knee will bow and every tongue confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord."
- Tabernacles - seven days (all the harvests have come in) the door has been shut... the Millennial reign of Christ on the earth.
The key of the house of DavidI will lay on his shoulder; So he shall open, and no one shall shut; And he shall shut, and no one shall open. - Isaiah 22:22
