APPOINTED TIMES FOR 2019 (part two) SELECTION OF THE LAMB
SELECTION OF THE LAMB
Introduction
Every year I have friends who ask me when Passover is, or when Trumpets is this year. So with that in mind, I will share some of those dates here.
I have other friends who wonder "why should we even care when these Feasts are?"
There is a level of ignorance in the church.
These Seven Feasts are dress rehearsals for the NEW Covenant plan of redemption, not the Old Covenant rituals.

There is a level of ignorance in the church.
These Seven Feasts are dress rehearsals for the NEW Covenant plan of redemption, not the Old Covenant rituals.
THE NEW COVENANT PROPHETIC SIGNIFICANCE of the Spring Feasts.
The selection of the lamb was done on the 10th day of Abib. Every man had to select a lamb for his family and the leaders selected a lamb for the nation.
We usually refer to this day as 'Palm Sunday' but it does not always fall on a Sunday, which was a convenience established by the Roman Church.
That great day, Jesus joined the rear of the procession as the national Passover lamb was lead along the road leading to Jerusalem. They traveled all the way up the hill to the temple. Jesus followed the procession, He was riding on the foal of a donkey and he created quite a stir. By doing so, He made a dual prophetic declaration: 1. He declared Himself as the Lamb of God, (by joining the procession), and 2. As the coming King of the whole Earth...(by riding on the foal of a donkey and turning to enter the temple by the Eastern gate.
Instead of following the lamb all the way to the North gate, Jesus broke away on the East side of the temple and entered the temple by East Gate or the Golden Gate. This gate was where the prince of Israel was to enter the temple.
How does this apply to me today?
Each person has to choose whether to make Jesus our personal Passover lamb, like the ram caught in the bush who took the place of Isaac on the altar.
We also have to make Him our Lord, our King if you will.
Setting aside this day each year would be a great way to celebrate your personal Salvation and ask God to return to you 'the joy of His salvation.'
Can we thank God for salvation on other days of the year?
Of course, we can but why not set this day to choose Jesus again; to renew your trust in Him and in His finished work.
On this 'appointed' day. Jesus, we choose you again as the Atonement we need so desperately to protect us from the wages of our sin. We acknowledge again our utter dependence on you. We recognize that you are our King and we are your servants.
And each nation also has to decide whether it will recognize Jesus as our national Passover lamb and our coming Lord and King our provision, our protection. Or we look elsewhere for that provision and protection to armies, false gods, and alliances with other countries.
Remember these biblical feasts always start at sundown on the previous (Roman calendar) day. Genesis documents the day as viewed by God, before sin entered the creation..." the evening and the morning was the first day, and so on through all the days. All the feast days begin and end at sundown (not at midnight). So, when it says Passover is April 19, 2019, what they mean is at sundown on April 18 until sundown on April 19.
