THE PROMISE of THE FATHER

Image
Last time we talked about the three baptisms in Scripture..,  The Holy Spirit baptizes (immerses) us in Jesus  - freedom from bondage and Death The disciple of Christ baptizes in Water  - putting the old man to death Jesus Baptizes us in/with the Holy Spirit - Newness of Life explosive power in the Promise and Fire to refine us.  Jesus speaks to his disciples about the Promise of His Father... And you are witnesses of these things. Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you ; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high . Luke 24:48-49 "And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; “for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”  Acts 1:5  - Peter lists the three steps required in Acts 2:38, referring to  the three baptisms...

RECEIVING THE HOLY SPIRIT - 3 Baptisms in the Scriptures

THREE BAPTISMS OF SCRIPTURE  The Holy Spirit baptizes (baptizo ) us in Jesus - the Baptism of the Holy Spirit -  " for "by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body"    1 Corinthians 12:13  The disciple Baptizes  (baptizo )  us in Water "G o therefore and make disciples of all the nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit."   Matthew 28:19 Jesus baptizes  (baptizo )  us in/with the Holy Spirit - Baptism in the Holy Spirit  “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.  Matthew 3:11  The Greek word Baptizo is used to describe all three baptisms  This choice of words indicates much more than a simple 'dipping' or immersing in a liquid as the Greek word Bapto would indicate.  The word Bapto is found in four places in the New...

13 Reasons Why Christians Should Stop - Dreaming of a 'White' Christmas!

There is some debate about the date that Jesus was born, however, most scholars agree that He was NOT born on December 25 th !  This Solistic invention of the fourth century A.D.  was pulled from a Pagan carnival called  Saturnalia honoring the false god Saturn.  The prophet Daniel foretold that this 4 th World Empire Rome would attempt if it were possible to alter the ‘appointed times of the Lord' and even the ‘seasons’. Some have argued for the Fall Feast of ‘Trumpets’ also known as Rosh Hashanah for Jesus' Birth. The lambs would not be 'watched in the fields by night' during the fall, only when the ewes are ready to cast their young in the Spring. Also, the fall feasts foreshadow His second coming as King, and the Feast of Trumpets is also the coronation day of the King.  I want to give some reasons why many believe it was the first day of the month of Abib (which literally means spring) also known by its Babylonian name Nisan.  Here are a baker’s d...

WHAT COMES FIRST THE WHEAT OR THE WINE?

Image
As we open the book of Judges in chapter 6, we find Gideon, a young man who is alone and hiding out. He is secretly threshing (beating) the wheat in the winepress because he is afraid of being found out, exposed, and losing his harvest.  He was doing the right thing, (beating wheat), during the right season, (the wheat harvest), but he is doing it all in the wrong place. The Threshing Floor      The angel of the Lord came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son  Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress  to keep it from the Midianites. When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.”  Judges 6:11-12 For those familiar with the 7 Feasts of the Lord t   'Gideon was  threshing wheat  in the  winepress '   This simple turn of phrase  in Scripture should immediat...
