IS PASSOVER AN OLD COVENANT OR NEW COVENANT EVENT?

Image
DOES PASSOVER BELONG TO THE JEWS OR DOES IT BELONG TO THE CHURCH?  I know that most of the Church are somewhat ignorant of the seven Appointed Times of the Lord laid out in Leviticus 23.  Most think of Passover as a strictly Jewish Holiday, and that it has no bearing on the New Covenant Church.  Did you know that... JESUS is our PASSOVER LAMB   Jesus, was meticulous in carrying out each of the legal details of ALL SEVEN of the Appointed Times of the Lord during His earthly ministry? This is the first of the Seven, if we can prove that this festival is more connected to the New Connected then to the Old Covenant then it follows that the other six might also be more connected to the New Covenant.   Here is one topic covered in this session. On the very same day, that Israel was commanded to select their "spotless" Passover lamb, Jesus makes a prophetic declaration by following the "national" Passover lamb through the city of Jerusalem. Sayi...

BIBLICAL CALENDAR FACTS AND FICTION

Image
What would you say to the following questions? When does the day begin?       12:01 AM?     6 AM?      8 AM? When does the week begin?       Sunday?     Monday? When does the month begin?   Calendar date?   New moon? When does the year begin?               January 1?     Spring 1? You might be surprised to learn that God has a different answer to each of these questions.  You will also discover that our current culture openly disagrees with God and that the Roman world empire orchestrated an attempt to alter the times and the seasons, even as was predicted in the book of Daniel speaking of the fourth world empire which would come on the scene centuries earlier.  Since we are still living in the legacy of that empire we may be ignorant that any changes took place, unless of course we get past our cultural norms and rediscover our Bibles aga...

THE FOUR CUPS OF PASSOVER - the New Covenant Significance

Image
The Four (4) Cups Of Passover      March 26, 2008 — Mike Ratliff After our study on the institution of the Lord’s Supper last week, in the post,  “ Do This In Remembrance of Me” ,  I was asked to give more detail on the four cups of the Passover.   In my study, I mentioned that the cups each have a name. And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” And likewise the cup after they had eaten , saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood . (Luke 22:19-20 ESV) Do these cups have any significance for Christians?     Let’s see. Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread are closely linked. Passover symbolized the deliverance of Israel from captivity in Egypt. However, in the institution of it and the Feast of Unleavened Bread, leaven was searched out in each home in or...

THE SIX DANGERS FACING THE CHURCH PREDICTED

Image
When asked what would be the dangers to the church in the 20th century,  the founder of The Salvation Army, William Booth responded with these six answers. I consider that the chief dangers which confront the coming century will be: Religion without the Holy Spirit Christianity without Christ Forgiveness without Repentance Salvation without Regeneration Politics without God Heaven without Hell NOW LOOKING BACK OVER THE LAST CENTURY We have to wonder... Are these dangers still with us in the 21st Century? SELAH

EVIDENCE FOR 33 A.D. the Lamb-less Passover of Jesus one day before the Jewish PASSOVER

Image
There’s a bunch of evidence to put   the day of Jesus’ crucifixion on April 3, 33 AD , or Nisan 14, 3794 in the Jewish calendar. For example, a Greek historian named Phlegon described the same events we read about in the Gospels — i.e., that the sun was eclipsed and there were earthquakes — and he dates it to 33 AD. Pontius Pilate wrote something even more specific in a report to Tiberius Caesar: Now when he was crucified darkness came over all the world, the sun was altogether hidden, and the sky appeared dark while it was yet day, so that the stars were seen, though still they had their luster obscured, wherefore, I suppose your excellency is not unaware that in all the world they lighted their lamps from the sixth hour until evening. And the moon, which was like blood, did not shine all night long, although it was at the full. – Pontius Pilate, 33 AD I don’t know what caused the sky to darken in the afternoon. A regular solar eclipse only lasts minutes, not hours, and is...

HOLIDAYS OR HOLY DAYS?

Image
Isn't it interesting that we have a secretary's day, a boss' day, an earth day, and many other greater and lesser holidays that fill up our calendars each year... Yet, when we look into Scripture, the God who created them all, the bosses, the secretaries and the earth itself, shared with us His seven appointed times during the year. He called them Holy, days that were to be set aside and observed throughout the generations of man. Here is a quiz out to see what level of exposure to these seven days you have had. How many could you fill out without using Google to search for the answers, can you name all seven? 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. I would like to make the class available to you via video, the participants in the class also read a couple of books you may want to get a hold of them as well. the main book was "A Prophetic Calendar - The Seven feasts of Israel" it was authored by Jill Shannon and internationally known speaker and writer/mu...

REDEMPTION AND THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE!

Image
WHAT DOES GOD'S PLAN OF REDEMPTION HAVE TO DO WITH THE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE? I am glad you asked. I had the opportunity to give a presentation of the seven Feasts of Israel this last spring. I wanted people to know how these feasts represent the entire plan of redemption when laid out over the course of the history of mankind from the first Adam through the final physical rule and reign on the earth by the Second 'Adam'.  Finally fulfilling the commandment to fill the earth and subdue it.  After teaching on the feasts for a few weeks and seeing the confusion when people try to learn the unfamiliar and translate it into the familiar. The idea struck me that without familiarity is difficult to remember some of the sequences and maybe miss the importance of these feasts in the NEW COVENANT.  YES, I did say the NEW Covenant.  you might say, "But they are Jewish feasts from the days of Moses!"  Well, can you tell me the name of the person you co...
