FREE FOOD... BUT HURRY, THE CLOCK IS TICKING.
If you read my last post, then you know where I was emotionally, when I was asked to lead prayer recently at Potters House of Prayer. If not, then you might want to read that post before you go ahead and read this one. I was asked to lead prayer and I hesitated... the prayer topic of the morning was revival, and the Church. As I was preparing, gathering my thoughts to lead the session, I saw a picture of a reality TV show, in my mind's eye.

We are living in the last days, II Timothy says perilous times, the culture around us has taken on the attitude of the contestants from this TV show, to grab all the stuff they can even if it is perishable. But God is asking us to fill our carts with things of substance and set our minds on things above. Whether we are believers or unbelievers we have this in common, time is short. What we pursue is in our cart and it will have to sustain us during the transition from this life to the next. Are you storing up His presence, His word, and prayer with the same zeal as these contestants? Or are you filling your cart with temporary food, clothes, jewelry, electronics, media,
It is high time that we buy oil for our lamps, it is available for the seeker, without money, and without a price.
Like in the parable of the ten virgins, the secret deadline is fast approaching and only the ones who have filled their vials with true oil will be found watching when He the bridegroom returns.

You may remember a TV show like Supermarket Sweep where the contestants were given an empty grocery cart and a short amount of time to fill their cart with anything and everything they wanted, all the groceries were free, as long as they were all in the cart before the buzzer sounded. Each contestant would race through the store grabbing whatever they valued most. Steaks, seafood, lots of meat, wine, the list goes on and on. The person who had the highest value of groceries in their cart became the winner.
“Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat.Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price.
Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance.
Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God,For He will abundantly pardon.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.Back to Potter's House of Prayer...
