PASS OVER THE FLAT BREAD...PLEASE

Looking at the second of the three spring Festivals,

The Feast of Unleavened Bread - removing hypocrisy and mixture.
For seven days you are to eat bread made without yeast. On the first day remove the yeast from your houses, for whoever eats anything with yeast in it from the first day through the seventh must be cut off from Israel. On the first day hold a sacred assembly, and another one on the seventh day. Do no work at all on these days, except to prepare food for everyone to eat; that is all you may do. “Celebrate the Festival of Unleavened Bread, because it was on this very day that I brought your divisions out of Egypt. Celebrate this day as a lasting ordinance for the generations to come. In the first month you are to eat bread made without yeast, from the evening of the fourteenth day until the evening of the twenty-first day. For seven days no yeast is to be found in your houses. And anyone, whether foreigner or native-born, who eats anything with yeast in it must be cut off from the community of Israel. Eat nothing made with yeast. Wherever you live, you must eat unleavened bread.”

Traditional natural Jews begin the process of emptying their houses of leaven on the first day of the first month and completed it before the fourteenth day of the first month. We would probably call this two week process, a good spring cleaning... that tradition passed down through many generations may have come from this ancient practice initiated by God Himself.

Jesus fulfilled this feast by His sinless life on the earth, He was the Unleavened bread that came down from Heaven. He also fulfilled the taking the leaven of of the house when he drove the money changers out of the temple during these days preceding the Feast of Passover and The feast Unleavened bread. Saying is to be a house of prayer but you have made it a den of thieves.

And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.  Mark 11:17

HOW THEN SHOULD WE CELEBRATE THE FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD?

The first question we should ask is, What is spiritual leaven or yeast?
Since we are observing these festivals, not as natural Jews, but as spiritual sons of God's own choosing. Then we need to know what is God really asking of us.  Spiritual leaven is mentioned by Jesus in Scripture...
Then Jesus said to them, “Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.”
How is it you do not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread?—but to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” Then they understood that He did not tell them to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
Matthew 16:6,11
And He left them, and getting into the boat again, departed to the other side... Then He charged them, saying, “Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.” Mark 8:13,15
In the meantime, when an innumerable multitude of people had gathered together, so that they trampled one another, He began to say to His disciples first of all, Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. Luke 12:1

By looking at all of the occurrences of this warning and the writer's conclusion of its meaning side by side, we can begin to piece together a better understanding of what is being said. So, if we relate the festivals to the growth process of the believer, then this is saying on the first day, or immediately after getting saved in Passover, we must aggressively remove all hypocrisy from our life starting on day One, the very same day as we are born again of the Spirit. This includes all religious activities that are based in any other motive than sincere love for God and His people.

In short our life has to change dramatically, the day we get saved! We immediately stop doing some things and immediately begin doing some new things. But everything we do, must be congruent with who we have now become in Christ Jesus.

Hypocrisy is an issue that goes much deeper than the surface of our lives, it speaks of the motivation of our hearts; why we do what we do and why we do not do, the things we do not do. Scripture states that, a little leaven, leavens the whole lump. Yeast is a culture, invisible to the naked eye but still it works throughout the whole lump to change its very structure. Constant exposure to the word of God will keep us safe because it will reveal the true motives and the intents of our hearts...
For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Hypocrisy, Dualism has to go, worldliness has to go, religious practice for any eyes, other than His eyes, has got to go.
Rather, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons. Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than He?  1 Corinthians 10:20-22 New King James Version (NKJV)

It may have been for this reason that Daniel and his three companions decided not to eat the king's delicacies from day one.
But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Daniel 1:8

Hypocrisy, has no place in the life of a believer. It must be rooted out  ruthlessly, to avoid falling under its influence.
