24-JULY-2014
This last Thursday night we had several themes that came forward during prayer. The most prevalent theme may have been open heavens over Mankato, MN. We received pictures of angels riding in on waves of the wind of the Spirit. The angels were coming in from all directions in waves and coming to rest, hovering over this city (Mankato) and this region (MN River Valley) They appeared to be riding the wind, in a horizontal position like a person might body surf in the ocean, except the waves were waves of the wind.
We discussed the release of God's providence over this city and the region.
Mankato consistently moves up in Quality of life ratings over the last several years.
2011 - Mankato places in the top 25 in the nation
2012 - Mankato 11th place in the nation
2013 - Mankato 10th place in the nation
2014 - Mankato in 3rd place in the nation
We recognized that the numerous construction projects recently under way are a sign of good toward this city by God. First the natural and then the spiritual, we believe that there has been a shift in the atmosphere over Mankato. And that it has been going on for a while now, although unperceived by most.

The following night (July 25) we had a guest speaker from Sturgis, Michigan for a special meeting at the church. He was unaware f anything we had spoken the night before.
He began to speak about our city, (Mankato) that the favor of God was on it. He went on to say Mankato was listed as the 10th most desirable place to live in the USA. (source unknown, but someone said it was published in the Mankato Free Press in January 2014. Someone else interjected that, Mankato was just named the 3rd best city in the US for small business by Forbes Magazine this was posted in the Mankato Free press on Thursday July 24th the same day as we were proclaiming God's favor over our city.
News articles that confirm this process of financial prosperity coming to Mankato.

Our View: Mankato ranks near top again
Thumbs up to the governments, businesses and people of the Mankato region for once again working together in ways that improve the community's economic standing.
Forbes ranked the Mankato/North Mankato area 10th in the country for Best Small Places for Business and Careers. The region was compared to all other MSAs in the country with populations of fewer than 250,000 people. It's a move up for the region which was ranked 25th in 2011 and 11th in 2012. The region finished ahead of St. Cloud (55th) and Rochester (35th).
Forbes considers 12 metrics in ranking the regions, including business costs and educational attainment. Other measures include job growth, income growth and projected economic growth. The ranking also includes cultural and recreational opportunities.
The Mankato region continues to pile up quality of life measures and it doesn't surprise residents, but it's reasonable to conclude that a lot of institutions, people and businesses work together in the Mankato/North Mankato region. Conflicts are resolved and solutions to problems are arrived at in collaborative ways. There are very few turf battles. Employers find governments mostly easy to work with to expand economic opportunities.
The Forbes ranking is something everyone can take pride in.

— Forbes released its list of “Best Small Places for Business and Careers,” ranking Mankato 11th best.
