Don:

I guess I am feeling a stirring to develop a mission statement for Thursday night and pass that by the elders, let me know what you think.  I just felt the wind blowing on the idea of putting down in writing what we are currently (even as of yesterday) hearing, feel free to add to this or redirect anything as you feel led.

Here is a little glimpse into what is going on at The Gap on Thursday nights... 

• We have moved our intercessory prayer group into the sanctuary on Thursday nights to accommodate more people and to allow people to move, walk, dance, etc. as we pray. 
• As we discussed before, Jeremiah and Keira should come and check it out sometime.
• The worship team can also join us any week and perhaps should be encouraged to join in once a month or so.

CHANGES IN DIRECTION: 

• We are moving forward in obedience to pray in and raise up intercessory worshipers, a word confirmed later in the book (The Purple Pig and Other Miracles by Dick Eastman)
• We have been calling out to God to awaken the spirit of intercession in his people and call forth intercessors to pray.
• We have purposed to train those who are already coming, to stretch in faith toward the next level in hearing God speak and immediately obeying him.
• Training in prophesy, and prophetic actions will be shared ad hoc as the Lord leads.
• Our goal is to make people as bold as lions, to be ready in season and out of season to share the hope that lies within them. 
• We have both read the Ultimate Treasure Hunt and hope to see treasure hunters raised up out of this prayer group.

We feel like we have a plan from the Lord for moving forward.  

We are experimenting very recently with the following:

FORMAT:

          The first 30 minutes or so we are setting aside for personal connection to the Lord. (soaking)

• Softened lighting
• Worship music playing in the background (enhance the playlist capability to be automatic and match the direction)
• No talking, just listening
• We suggest that everyone please bring their bible, a tablet, and a pen to write down what He will say to you.

        The second portion of the meeting will be reserved to deliver: the psalm, the prophecy, 
         the scripture, the exhortation, the revelation, to the group assembled.      (I Cor. 14:26)

 "for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you."   Matt 10:20   

• Gather in a circle 
• We will individually and corporately 
• pray out, 
• sing out or 
• act out the words shared as the Spirit moves us, 
• We will declare our agreement with God and what God has spoken over 
• individuals, 
• families, 
• neighborhoods, 
• the city, and 
• the region. 

ACCOUNTABILITY 

We want to record the words of God over the next season so that we might have a written testimony of His faithfulness toward us.

GOALS FOR PREPARING INTERCESSORS

Our goal for the next three months is to conduct encounter sessions with all in our group to prepare for ministry to others. 

Our goal by year-end 2012 is to announce our availability to pray and prophesy over those who are in need of prayer or a word from God. 

Our long-range goal is to move beyond the walls of the prayer meeting and encounter the prodigals and the children of God in the marketplace and bring them home to the Father's welcoming arms.
